The world’s strongest man was the special guest as a gym in St Neots opened its doors to customers for the first time.

Eddie Hall, nicknamed The Beast, was on hand to officially open Gainz Fitness and Strength on Saturday at its new home at the Rowley Arts Centre complex.

Hall, 29, was crowned the world’s strongest after a gruelling competition held in Botswana back in May, having finished third in 2016.

He spent three hours in St Neots welcoming guests, signing autographs, and posing for photos with fans.

Alex Lowndes, a member of the Gainz Fitness tam, said: “We signed up a lot of new members on the day, the local support really was overwhelming. New members eagerly used the gym right away. The feedback on the equipment was very positive.

“It was pleasing to see a good mix of people; men and women, young and old, experienced and new to the gym environment. Overall, a big success.”
