St Neots town centre was a blaze of colour on Saturday for a day of dance.

The event, part of the this year’s 35th St Neots Folk Festival, featured 14 Morris, folk and molly dance groups, including Heartsease and the Littleport Riot, who performed at various venues, including the Market Square and the Pig ‘n’ Falcon pub.

St Neots mayor, Councillor Derek Giles and mayoress Councillor Sandie Giles also attended the event.

Cllr Derek Giles said: “We both thoroughly enjoyed watching the various groups performing on St Neots Market Square. Congratulations to all who took part, but in particular to Pattie and Roger Pitt of our own Heartsease Folk Group for organising such a lovely event.”

The dancing started at 10.45 and moved to The Coach House pub, the Rowley Arts Centre and The Chequers pub,in Eynesbury, later that day.

Patti Pitt, from the St Neots Folk Club, who helped to organise the three-day folk festival, said: “The festival itself went well and the Friday ceilidh was most enjoyable with the Hosepipe Band and alongside a music and song session. The shows were superb and those who did not come missed some memorable performances from the Demon Barbers XL, Sophie Crawford on Saturday night and on Sunday from Landermason, Chris Fox and Megan Wisdom. We thank all who did come to support the event.”
