Police have called off a search for a missing woman after a body was discovered in woodland near Peterborough last night (Wednesday).

Julia Blacklock, of Orton Longueville, Peterborough, had not been seen since leaving her home on Monday evening (April 14).

Officers appealed for information to help in the search for the 48-year-old.

But at 10pm last night, a body of a woman was found in woods near Elton and a police spokesman said it was believed to be that of Julia Blacklock.

No formal identification has taken place but her family have been updated. There were no suspicious circumstances, said the spokesman, and the death has been reported to the coroner.
