Police have closed the A1198 Papworth bypass following an incident earlier this afternoon (Tuesday).

At least seven police cars can be seen in a picture tweeted by BCH Road Policing, apparently surrounding a vehicle and other stationary vehicles having come from the opposite direction.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 7.40am today with reports of a domestic in St Ives.

”There has since been a police pursuit and a man was arrested on the A1198 Papworth bypass at about 3pm. The road has been closed while a vehicle is recovered.”

Police have urged drivers to find an alternative route around the area.
