Around 1,100 runners have taken part in the annual Cambridge Cambourne 10k Run which raised money for the Arthur Rank Hospice this year.

First home in the 10K run, at Cambourne, was David Wilson, of the Thames Hare and Hounds club in a time of 33 minutes and 42 seconds and the first woman to finish was Becky Hair, of Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club in a time of 40 minutes and 45 seconds.

The winner of the one mile fun run was Isaac Rothwell in 5 minutes 41 seconds while the first female finisher was Emily Williams in 6 minutes and 25 seconds.

Lesley Scobell, marketing manager for Cambourne Business Park and one of the organisers, said: “We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Heidi Allen, to present today’s prizes to our talented winners.

“It’s fantastic to be celebrating a decade of 10K success and really worthwhile fundraising effort at Cambourne.”

Cambridge-based Arthur Rank Hospice, which supports people with life-limiting conditions, was the main charity to benefit from the run which raised about £5,000.
