Two of the men arrested yesterday (June 11) in connection with the death of Sam Mechelewski have been charged with his murder.

Jordan Shepherd, 23, of Mayfly Close, in Chatteris, and Ashley White, 20, of West End, in Brampton, will appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday). White has also been charged with possession of cannabis.

A man in his late teens, from Huntingdon, who was also arrested on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to murder has been released on bail until July 10.

The body of Mr Mechelewski, aged 20, who is from Huntingdon, was discovered at Hinchingbrooke Country Park on February 1.

A post mortem examination later revealed he had died from a stab wound.
