British Transport Police were called at 7.26am yesterday (Tuesday, July 8), and the driver of the First Capital Connect 6.55am service from Peterborough to London King’s Cross halted the train to collect the man.

He was dropped off at Biggleswade station, where he was met by First Capital Connect staff and British Transport Police.

A spokesman for First Capital Connect added: “We pride ourselves on running a safe railway and our drivers are trained to deal with such scenarios as what happened this morning.

“Our driver helped avert what could have been a tragic incident.”

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of trespass.

  • I wonder if that guy off look east yesterday was the same person? He was definitely walking on train tracks. There were no trains as far as i could see but wasn't he trespassing?
