A fire engine from Papworth and a specialist rescue pump from Huntingdon were called at 1.49am to the accident in Low Road. On arrival, they requested back-up from another pumping appliance and extra resources from Huntingdon.

Three ambulances were dispatched plus a rapid response vehicle, and paramedics treated three casualties at the scene who had suffered injuries which were not life-threatening.

Two people were then taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon and one was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The incident was under control at 2.47am, and crews were back at base by 3.34am.
