THIEVES smashed their way into a St Ives petrol station last night.

The offenders stole cigarettes from the Hemingford Service Station in London Road at 11.40pm yesterday (Thursday) before making off in a blue BMW. A van, also believed to be blue, was seen in the area, however it is not known if that vehicle was also involved in the incident.

Chief Inspector Chris Mead said: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information about who is responsible for this break-in to call police.

“In particular we are keen to hear from anyone who saw the BMW either prior to the incident or where it went afterwards or anyone who may have seen the car and blue van travelling together in convoy.”

CONTACT: Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
