The East of England Ambulance Service were called at 8.32pm yesterday (June 9), and sent an ambulance, an ambulance officer and an air ambulance crew in a rapid response vehicle. The man – who is believed to be in his 20s and from the local area – was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police confirmed that they attended alongside officers from Cambridgeshire Police.

A spokesman for BTP said: “The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

“The man’s family have been informed.”

The line was handed back to Network Rail at 10.03pm.
