St Ives confirmed the end of an era at the Southern League club with a statement early this afternoon.

Speaking to The Hunts Post, Hall said: “We have been at the club since 2002 and we feel that we have taken things are far as we can.

“Warren decided a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to retire and I have been mulling things over since then. We have given the club a lot of our time over the last 12 years and indeed Warren has been part of St Ives Town for 30-odd years. We just decided it was time for a change.”

“We are really pleased with our first season in the Southern League and it is a good time for me to take a break. Maybe I will see what offers come in.”

The statement, written by board member Gary Clarke, read: “Both their decisions have been very hard but they feel that the time is right for them for new challenges in life and some family time.

“The club would like to acknowledge both Jez and Woz for a fantastic job and what they have done for St Ives Town FC.

“They have brought the club such a long way, from the depths of Step 6 to the strong and admirable position, whereby it stands in Step 4 today, together with very many cup successes and fabulous memories along the way.

“They will be sorely missed by all at SITFC and the club is privileged to have been associated with such professional, loyal and genuine people.”

The statement ended by saying the search is now on for Hall and Everdell’s replacement (or replacements) and there was an invitation for applications from ‘suitable qualified candidates’.
