Cycling enthusiasts at Huntingdonshire Regional College are gearing up to bike more than 80 miles to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
To help them prepare for the ride from the college in California Road, Huntingdon, to the charity’s headquarters in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, on May 16, staff members Andrew Brett, Stuart Walker and Dean Constant held an ‘all-day cycle’ to raise more funds.
The trio took it in turns to cycle non-stop on exercise bikes between 8.30am and 5pm on April 4 and raised more than £200.
Mr Brett said: “The bike ride itself will be a challenge as we will be riding on all different surfaces and it will require all of our stamina to achieve our goal of getting there in under five hours.”
Mr Constant, marketing manager, said they had raised £400 of their £500 target and added: “We are extremely grateful for the donations made so far and we have a lot of fun fundraising activities planned for students and staff to get involved with in the coming months.”
