Green light for Little Paxton sports pavilion

A SPORTS pavilion in Little Paxton has been given the go-ahead by planners.
The £30,000 single-storey building, to be paid for by a grant, was approved by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Development Management panel on September 17.
At 72 square metres the pavilion is around half the size of the original plans which gained planning consent in July 2011.
When built, Queen Elizabeth II Playing Field pavilion will be home to the Little Paxton Colts and the village’s cricket club.
The building was approved despite four letters of objection from residents in Field Close, complaining it would cause litter, noise pollution, result in anti-social behaviour and would have a detrimental impact on their view.
The Cambridgeshire Police Architectural Liaison Officer raised a few issues and the developers have changed their plans to remove a recess area that was feared would act as a shelter for children and also to look to add CCTV provision.
