Ramsey man in hospital after car crashes into tree

THREE motorists were cut free from their cars after separate accidents in three days

A driver was released from their car after crashing into a hedge in High Street, Great Paxton, last night (Sunday).

Emergency services were sent to the incident at 8.55pm. Firefighters cut the roof off the car as the driver was complaining of neck and spinal pain.

The casualty was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with serious injuries.

The fire crews were back on base at 10.31pm and the car was recovered by 11pm.

A woman, in her 60s, had a lucky escape after an accident on the A14 between Hemingford and Godmanchester on Friday.

She was trapped in her car, which was in a ditch, after leaving the westbound carriageway at about 6.10pm.

Magpas Helimedix Doctor Anne Booth, paramedic Ash Richardson and transfer technician Zoe Coll assessed the woman, who hadn’t suffered any serious injuries.

Firefighters released the woman and she was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Earlier on Friday firefighters released a motorist from their car after leaving the A14 eastbound carriageway and crashed into a ditch.

Emergency services were called to the scene, between Keyston and Catworth, at 12.30pm. Fire crews used specialist cutting equipment to free the casualty.

Crews were back at base by 2.10pm.
