Cambridgeshire police were called to Harrison Way between Meadow Lane and Low Road at 7.22am to direct traffic after the broken down Peugeot brought the town to a standstill, causing delays of around 30 minutes.

A police spokesman said that recovery was ongoing, but was taking longer due to the “precarious position” that the car is in.

Cambridgeshire County Council’s traffic team is telling motorists to avoid the area.
