£1,500 reward after several Edwardian and Victorian items were stolen from Fenstanton home

A REWARD has been offered after several pieces of Victorian and Edwardian items were stolen from a Fenstanton home.

Burglars stole several items of significant value, including Edwardian chandeliers, a Victorian smokers cabinet and a number of Briars pipes, between 11pm on Thurday, May 17, and 10am the following day.

A third party has offered a reward of up to £1,500 to anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Rob Needle, chair of Cambridgeshire Crimestoppers, said: “People who are burgled not only lose personal, and often treasured possessions, but they also lose their feeling of being safe and secure in their own home.”

Ann Scott, Eastern regional manager for Crimestoppers, added: “Some of these items have been in the family for many years so hold great sentimental value. This theft has been extremely distressing for the victim and is having a severe effect on their family.

The stolen items

A large 1950s Teddy Bear, approx 3ft tall, blonde, hump backed, mohair, straw-filled, (wood wool), articulated head & limbs. The felt pads to his paws have been replaced, and now require re-newing. A lilac/mauve bow is tied around his neck,

An early 20th century large carved gilt solid wood picture frame, height 114 centimetres, width 86 centimetres,

Two Edwardian chandeliers,

A large Victorian mahogany breakfast tilt-top table - central column sits on four legs and seats six people,

A late Victorian 5 tier waterfall chandelier,

A small Victorian bag chandelier,

A Victorian Smokers cabinet - two door, with an embellishment of a diamond shape in a contrasting wood to the front, Contents included 3 Briar pipes,

Two small Victorian oval oil paintings on copper panels depicting flowers in urns with metal frames, each set behind convex glass,

Twenty-two Edwardian lead crystal cut-glass party coasters/nibbles trays,

A large heavy lead crystal cut glass Edwardian tray,

Four Bristol cars chrome hub-cap badges,

A single Franklin Mint, Limited Edition ?100 Greatest Cars? Ingot depicting a Bristol Beaufighter,

And a Victorian porcelain whistle-mug. Small bird on Handle which one blows through to create a whistle sound. About 5 inches tall with decoration of small boy and girl.

“I would urge anyone who has seen these distinctive looking items to get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers anonymously if they feel unable to talk to police staff.

“Did you see suspicious activity in the village that night? Has someone confessed to being involved? Has someone tried to offer you these items for sale? We want any information, no matter how insignificant you feel it might be.”
