Firefighters battled a blaze after hay bales caught fire in a Houghton field.

A crew from Huntingdon was called to a bridleway off of Thicket Road at 4pm yesterday (Wednesday), where they found two bales smouldering in the middle of a field. They extinguished the flames before returning to their stations by 8pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown at present.
