A Hartford pub will find out in February if it has become the nation’s best.

Licensees Jane and Matt Spicer have been celebrating after the King of the Belgians was named Cambridgeshire pub of the year by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) at the Booze on the Ouse beer and cider festival in St Ives.

The pub had also already won the pub of the year title from CAMRA’s Huntingdonshire branch and will now go forward to the overall national CAMRA pub of the year awards which will be decided early next year.

The local awards also saw the pub take the urban and community pub of the year titles.

No stranger to award-winning, the King of the Belgians had previously taken the branch titles in 2014 and 2015.

CAMRA said the King of the Belgians was well-known as a genuine community pub, providing a focal point for local residents and also hosted events in support of good causes.
