Fire crews battle St Ives skip fire

Firefighters tackled a skip fire in St Ives.

One crew from the town and one crew from Huntingdon were called to an industrial unit off Caxton Road at 4.54pm yesterday (June 11).

A fire had broken out in a large industrial skip containing carpet, which was well alight. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the flames before returning to their stations by 7.15pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
