Driver who died in A1M crash near Sawtry named by police

The driver who died in a crash near Sawtry overnight on Saturday has been named.

Jason Cottingham, 29, of Violet Way, Yaxley, was travelling in a red Audi A4 northbound on the A1M when the car crashed into a ditch about a mile north of Sawtry.

The car was not spotted until just after noon on Sunday (June 22) by a member of the public.

Pc Jay Porter said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw this crash or the Audi travelling north on the A1.”
