A local youngster is trying to raise money after being selected for the European Dragon Boat Championship’s.

Molly Power has been chosen along with five other members of the St Neots Dragon Boat Team to represent her country at the championships.

And her fundraising efforts are off to a strong start thanks to a sponsorship cheque presented by Giggs and Co Estate Agents in St Neots for £250.

The 14-year-old is now trying to raise money for the event, which is taking place in Brandenburg, Germany, in August.

The Longsands Academy student needs to raise £1,000 which will pay for her kit, accommodation and travel to the championships.

Molly is hoping to join her dad, who is also a member of the St Neots Dragon Boat team, at the event.
