A Huntingdon firm is marking the opening of its new premises by welcoming two championship racing drivers to the town.
Bartlett Automotive is set to officially open its new site on the Hinchingbrooke Business Park, in Falcon Road, on Saturday.
Joining the management team for the ribbon-cutting will be Jo Polley, Mini Challenge Championship driver, and Jeff Smith, a British Touring Car Championship driver.
The BMW and MINI specialist was formerly based in St Peter’s Road but is set to almost double in size by moving to its new 10,000sq ft home.
The new layout will be configured to allow two MOTs to run simultaneously, reducing waiting times.
Customers will also be able to hot-desk from the new premises, and two work stations will be provided to businesses, along with free wifi access and the usual TV and coffee making facilities.
Housing seven technician bays, the move will support Bartlett Automotive’s growing team, which has more than doubled in the past three years to 11 full time members of staff.
Ms Polley competes in the MINI Challenge Championship in the headlining JCW Class.
One of the highest level one-make series in the UK, the JCW class has a 30-car grid of drivers. The class attracts former touring car and GT and pro drivers, making it tough and competitive.
Mr Smith is a well-established driver in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). He started his 2017 BTCC campaign in style with a pole position at Brands Hatch for round one but is currently sat out of the racing seat due to recovery from injuries sustained in a racing crash in June.
