Large parts of Huntingdon and surrounding villages woke up to find no water or just a dribble coming from taps and showers after a burst main affected the supply across town.
Anglian Water engineers were called to St Peter’s Road, Huntingdon where a flood was delaying traffic this morning (Wednesday).
A spokesman for the firm said: “We’re really sorry but some of you in Huntingdon, Alconbury, Weston, Sawtry and surrounding areas may have very low water pressure or no water at all.
“We’ve got a burst main in your area that we’re working hard to get fixed. We’ll get your supply back to normal as soon as possible.
“This should be by 12pm today.
“When the water is back it may look a little cloudy or discoloured, just run your tap for a couple of minutes and it should clear - if it doesn’t give us a call so that we can check it out - 08457 145145.”
People took to Twitter this morning to vent their frustration. Ben Lloyd posted just before 7am to say: “Woken up to no running water...”, while HJBlackjack posted: “Wake up, no water! I’ve never lived anywhere that has so many burst mains!”
