A beauty clinic in Ramsey celebrated its 20th anniversary and managed to raise £250 for a breast cancer charity.
Lasting Impressions, in the High Street, was set up by Diahann Berridge and offers a wide range of treatments. The clinic has recently undergone refurbishment and is taking on a host of new products and treatments.
On October 21, Diahann and her team showed their support for the Wear it Pink charity and celebrated with customers. They sold raffle tickets and offered treatments as prizes. The first 20 customers on the day were also handed some Espa oil.
“The 20 years’ celebration was a huge success and many clients came to celebrate with cake and prosecco,” said Diahann.
“We also used the event to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink campaign which funds vital research into breast cancer. This work is so important in the fight against this terrible disease and it was a pleasure for Lasting Impressions to play our part.”
The event was also supported by North West Cambridgeshire MP Shailesh Vara.
He said: “I was very pleased to visit the salon to celebrate a thriving local business and a good cause in Wear It Pink.
“Diahann and her team have worked so hard to build a successful business over the last 20 years and it is these small enterprises which are so vital to our economy. Wear It Pink day is an annual event and visiting Lasting Impressions was an excellent way to show my support on an issue which affects so many people and has a huge impact on their family and friends.”
The Breast Cancer Now, Wear It Pink event is one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events and since 2002 has raised more than £30 million. Money raised goes towards research on how to prevent, detect and treat breast cancer as effectively as possible at each of its stages. Currently, nearly 11,500 women and 80 men die of breast cancer every year in the UK.
