Thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes after smashing their way into a petrol station in Bluntisham.

The incident took place at about 9.30pm on Monday (March 27) at the BP service station, in Station Road.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “Once inside, thieves forced open the metal shutters of a cigarette kiosk and stole approximately 400 packets of cigarettes from inside.

“The burglary was caught on CCTV which shows a dark coloured car draw up at the service station and three men in dark clothing and masks get out and carry out the crime.”

According to a spokesman, the value of items stolen came to about £4,000.

The spokesman added that officers were keen to trace a dark-coloured car, possibly a BMW 1 series, thought to be involved in the incident, as well as three men.
