The air ambulance was called after a man suffered serious injuries in an incident involving farm machinery in Papworth Everard.

The Magpas air ambulance was called at about 9am on Wednesday (September 20) to an area just south of the village following reports that a man had been seriously injured.

A spokesman for Magpas said: “The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient, in his 20s, who had sustained a serious leg injury. They administered advanced pain relief at the scene and accompanied him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. The man was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.”

The East of England Ambulance Service and Cambridgeshire police were also called to the scene.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an incident near Papworth Everard involving farming machinery.

“A double-staffed ambulance, ambulance officer and Magpas air ambulance attended the scene, treating one patient with serious injuries. The patient was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, for further care.”
