A woman threatened to jump off a bridge over the A14 near Huntingdon this afternoon.

Officers were called to the Brampton bridge, at junction 22, towards Huntingdon Racecourse at 4.25pm today (Thursday) and closed both carriageways between Brampton Hut and Spittals Interchange.

Mick Bruce, of Cambridgeshire police, said the woman didn’t jump or fall from the bridge and was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Traffic was been diverted on the A1 and the A14 spur until the road reopened at 5.25pm.
