Potholes can be a significant concern for drivers and pedestrians.

Measuring more than 10cm deep and, in one case, one metre wide, these bumps can cause severe damage to car tires, suspension and pedestrians if they trip on them.

For road users taking to Fix My Street, a website that allows people to report issues to their local authority, Huntingdonshire has its fair share of potholes.

According to the RAC, there are more than one million potholes in the UK.

Their Pothole Index suggests motorists are now twice as likely to break down as a result of repeated wear caused by potholes when compared to 17 years ago.

Using Fix My Street, The Hunts Post has been on the lookout for the worst potholes in the district.

Here’s what we found:

Hampshire Road, Wyton

This person's complaint stems back a while - with the complainant saying that it has been this way for the 'past year'.

They also note that the pothole spans almost the width of the road and  is around 10cm deep, adding how dangerous it was for bikes, as well as cars, travelling to the nearby RAF base.

The individual on Fix My Street said: “These have been reported numerous times over the past year. With the wet, cold weather, the potholes have become deep and spread across almost the entire road.

“Cars parked next to the location are sprayed with stones from the potholes, and cars trying to avoid them come close to hitting the cars.”

Huntingdon Road, Great Raveley

This is another pothole that has allegedly been causing issues.
