Laura Bird, from St Ives, ran the London Marathon with a fridge on her back for the entire 26.2 mile journey.

Laura, better known as Birdy, was one of the incredible 50,000 people that ran the 2024 London Marathon on Sunday, April 21.

With a 25kg fridge strapped to her back (and a 3kg harness to carry it), Laura completed the marathon in seven hours and 29 minutes.

She described the London Marathon as "the most incredible experience."

"The crowd was electric and shouting my name constantly. My friends and family were there to share every second."

She ran the marathon to raise money for the Rays of Sunshine charity, who brighten the lives of children with serious or life-limiting illnesses.

Laura's inspiring efforts have raised just under £15,000 for the charity.

Laura added that it was an "honour" to run and raise money for the Rays of Sunshine charity.

She described it as a "complete privilege" to take on the challenge.

Laura has ran many marathons in the past, she's taken part in Ironman Triathlons, and was a a recruit on Channel 4's SAS Who Dares Wins.
