Take a look at the Huntingdonshire cafes, restaurants and shops that are using the discounted food app, Too Good to Go. 

Too Good to Go is an app designed to fight against food waste and hunger, by allowing eateries to upload bundles of excess food at a discounted price.

App users can secure 'magic bags', which are made up of left-over meals, baked goods and groceries that would normally be thrown away at the end of the day.

The Hunts Post has put together a list of some of the places offering a Too Good to Go services across Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives, Ramsey and Godmanchester.

Some of the villages in Huntingdonshire also have venues which have signed up to the app so check your postcode for locations. The app can be downloader for app providers.

Huntingdon

Greggs 

A cold food evening bag from Greggs is made up of sandwiches, savoury bakes and sweet treats worth £8, and will cost you £2.59.

You can collect it at the end of the day from Greggs on the High Street in Huntingdon.

Hope's Sweet Creations

A magic bag from Hope's Sweet Creations will cost you £4, and is filled with a selection of pastries, doughnuts, cakes, rolls and bread worth £12.

You can collect a bag from Hope's at the Stukeley Meadows Industrial Unit. 

Pizza Express

Pizza Express on Huntingdon High Street also do a magic bag which is worth £15, but instead it will cost you £5.

Inside, there will either be one main course, or three starters/desserts.

Hartford Mill

Hartford Mill offer a roast carvery surprise bag, which will set you back £4. 

Inside, there will be meat, a Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and a mixture of veg, which can be picked up from Banks End.

Costa Coffee

There are three Costa Coffee locations in Huntingdon that offer a magic bag - the High Street, the Costa inside Next, and the Costa at Huntingdon Retail Park.

All of the bags cost £3.50, despite being worth £11, and are filled with goodies off of the Costa menu, including sandwiches, salads, pastries and cake.

St Neots

Caffe Nero

Caffe Nero offer a selection of pastries and/or cakes from whatever is left on their shelves at the end of the day. 

The Market Square shop prices the bags at £2.59, and inside you'll find £10's worth of goodies.

Morrisons 

The High Street supermarket gives away a bundle of grocery items at the end of the day for £3.30.

Inside, you may get fruit, vegetables, cakes, pastries, snacks, fish and meat.

Jo's Bakes and Sweet Treats 

Jo's Bakes and Sweet Treats, in Barnes Close, has a £4 surprise bag on offer with contents at the value of £12.

The bags are filled with home baked cakes at a brilliant price.

Aldi

Aldi price their surprise bags as the same as Morrisons (£3.30), and these will also be full of everyday groceries that can be saved from the bin.

You can pick a bag up at the Howard Road store.

Costa Coffee

The Costa Coffee in St Neots also offers a £3.50 magic bag too, full of goodies from the menu.

Pick up a bag from the Great North Road spot.

 

St Ives

Di Rita's At No2 The Old Bank

Di Rita's offers up a surprise bag worth £9 for the bargain price of £3. 

Inside, you'll get a selection of baked goods from The Pavement store.

BP M&S

For £4, you can collect some M&S Food items as well as other BP in-store ranges.

This could be anything from fruit, vegetables, ready meals and sandwiches, all from the Needingworth Road branch.

Gnawty Bites

If you have a sweet tooth, why not save a selection of cookies, brookies and brownies from Gnawty Bites?

You can collect a mouth-watering £4.30 bag from Hemingford Grey.

Pike & Eel

You can pick up some surplus items from a Sunday Roast at the Pike & Eel for £5.

The Needingworth restaurant has bags with contents worth £15, so £5 is a real bargain.

Skinny Slabs

If you prefer a low calorie sweet treat, Skinny Slabs in Hemingford Grey is also on the Too Good to Go app.

For £5.33, you can bag brownies and/or blondies that are all under 200 calories. The bags have a value of £16.

You can pick them up from Skinny Slabs on Burlington Way in Hemingford Grey.

 

Ramsey

Spar

You can grab a late afternoon hot food bag from the Great Whyte Spar for just £2.69.

Inside, there will be a variety of food from the hot cabinet in the shop.

The Great Whyte Spar also offers a grocery surprise bag for £3.39, which has a selection of grocery items inside. 

B&M Express

A £3.30 surprise bag from B&M may contain fruit and vegetables, bread, cakes, fish, meat, drinks, snacks, biscuit and confectionary.

You'll be able to pick up the bag, worth £10, from the Great Whyte store.

 

Godmanchester

Really Awesome Coffee

At Really Awesome Coffee, you can get your hands on a surprise bag for £4, with baked goods and sandwiches inside.

It's available for collection at Stokes Drive.

Co-op

The Godmanchester Co-op offers two types of magic bags in the shop.

You can collect a hot breakfast bag from 11am-11:40am, which could have a breakfast wrap, a muffin or a sausage roll inside for £2.

They also have a lunch hot food bag for £2, which may have paninis, hotdogs and steak slices inside.

One Stop

In a similar fashion to the Co-op, One Stop also have a £2 surprise bag filled with ready meals, bread, fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, cakes and pastries.
