Nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside, the Aqua Sana at Center Parcs Woburn Forest offers a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Spending an indulgent day there, I arrived and enjoyed breakfast - a choice of pastry and hot or cold drink - in the contemporary Vitalé Café Bar, before being shown a map of the spa and given a comprehensive run-down of what’s on offer. And it’s a lot!
Guests can explore the 25 multi-sensory, nature-inspired spa experiences across six spa zones, from the relaxing floral aromas of the Blossom Spa and the re-energising thermal experiences in the Fire and Ice Spa, to the healing powers of the Mineral and Gemstone Spa.
Each experience offers unique healing properties. From herbal inhalation baths and hydrotherapy showers to multi-sensory meditation experiences, Aqua Sana Woburn Forest combines the healing powers of heat, water and nature to leave you feeling refreshed and revitalised.
The offer is so extensive, there is something to suit everyone. For those who enjoy gentle heat and aromas, head to the Blossom Spa, where there is a steam room, heat room, relaxation lounge and rain walk.
If, like me, you prefer a more intense experience, try out the Fire and Ice Spa, where there is the Lava Volcano Sauna - which is as hot as it sounds - and the less intense, although still pretty hot, Stone Sauna. The Snow and Ice Room offers cold relief and leaves you feeling revitalised.
I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried, but particularly the Mineral and Gemstone Spa, where the Mineral Steam Bath offers intense heat before cooling showers refresh your senses.
As well as the six spa zones, there are also reflexology footbaths and a heated outdoor infinity pool, with shower jets and bubble beds.
When you’re ready for refreshments, or you’re booked in for lunch, head to the Vitalé Café Bar, which is directly accessible from within the spa, so you can stay in your robe.
There are plenty of options for lunch - from specials to pastas and paninis - and the cannelloni I opted for was delicious.
The staff at Aqua Sana Woburn Forest ensure your experience is fabulous from the moment you arrive. They are friendly and welcoming and intent on ensuring you relax and enjoy your experience.
The Aqua Sana is open to all adults - you don’t need to be staying at Center Parcs to enjoy the facilities.
A spa day includes access to the spa from 9am to 5pm, refreshments on arrival, a glass of bubbly, complimentary towel and robe hire, lunch in the Vitalé Café Bar and access to wellbeing sessions.
These therapist-led sessions focus on self-care, relaxation and overall health and wellbeing. They each take place multiple times a day, so you can find a session to suit you.
At a Spa Discovery Session, trained therapists will share wellness tips and advice on skincare routines, interactive demonstrations of how to apply products, as well as offering beauty advice.
At a Sleep Session, learn how to relax your body and calm your mind with soothing, guided breathing exercises followed by a relaxation ritual - all designed to promote a good night's sleep.
If you opt for a Twilight Spa, the package includes access to the spa from 5.30pm to 9pm, a glass of bubbly on arrival, complementary towel and robe hire, and free wellbeing sessions.
To make your day even more special, why not add one or more treatments to your experience?
Are you looking for a last minute Christmas present? A gift voucher for Aqua Sana Woburn Forest is the perfect solution and is valid for 24 months from the date of purchase.
