The Lord Protector pub has welcomed Huntingdon MP Jonathan Djanogly to find out more about the venue, following a significant six-figure investment earlier this year.
The pub, located in the heart of Huntingdon, is operated by Steve Cook and Michelle Johnson, who gave the MP a tour of the new-look pub.
One new feature which particularly caught Mr Djanogly's eye was a map on one of the pub’s walls of the surrounding area.
As well as seeing all the new additions, Steve and Michelle spoke about their new, extensive drinks menu as well as all that they are doing for the local community.
The Lord Protector has recently set up a food bank, collecting donations from the local community to support those in need.
Also, one of the pub’s team members participated in a charity head shave for Macmillian Cancer Support.
Steve said: “The Lord Protector is a true community pub, and it is so good to be able to support those around us and make the venue a place for anyone and any occasion. We loved being able to tell Jonathan about all of our charity work and community efforts, as it means so much to us.
"Whether it is our weekly entertainment, fundraising initiatives or just offering a space to relax and come for a drink, we love bringing together the local community.”
Michelle said: “We thoroughly enjoyed having Jonathan come to visit our wonderful pub, and it was nice to see him have some fun. He was really interested in our recent investment and we really enjoyed talking to him about all that we have to offer.
Mr Djanogly said: “My recent visit to the newly refurbished Lord Protector pub was a real pleasure. The venue’s refurbishment is a testament to the hard work of the pub’s operators, Steve and Michelle, and I wish them and the whole team the best of luck for the future.”
