Round-up: Pressland's seven sets Witches flying

JIM Pressland created his own magic for Warboys Witches when they beat Hemingford 9-2.

The striker notched seven goals for the Witches with Ryan Bullard and Daniel Chivers also getting on the scoresheet.

Eddie Rowe saved two penalties and then came out from between the posts to net four goals as Priory Parkside won 11-2 against Stukeley Meadows.

Sammy Fraser also contributed a brace and the tally was completed by Joe Jakens, Connor Sharman, Josh Manton, Danny Ager and an own goal.

U8

PRIORY Parkside F and Stilton Red were involved in an eleven-goal epic that saw Priory emerge winners 6-5.

Seven first-half goals included a brace from Richie Ellingham, and the game was all square at 5-5 with two minutes remaining. But Owen Bevan left Stilton cheesed off when he chipped the goalkeeper to give the glory to Priory.

U9

HUNTINGDON Rowdies F and St Ives TK were involved in a nine-goal thriller with Rowdies taking the win in the closing minutes.

The Rowdies on the mark were Ryan Smith, Hugo Silva, and Freddie Francis but the hero of the hour with two late strikes was Kai Linnell.

Alex Kontos and Alex Harris scored goals for Priory H but Rowdies K proved the stronger to win 4-2. Rio Douglas, Aaron Hiscock and Harley O'Connell (2) struck for Rowdies.

St Ives and Sawtry served up a great match that ended 4-4. An Owen Charge goal seemed like a consolation as Sawtry led 3-1, but Ives hit back with goals from Amir Kamal (2) and Billy Driver before a 20-yard piledriver saved a point for Sawtry.

Alconbury Blue managed to get the better of a hard-working Priory side. Jacob Pack notched four with Marcel Rzeszutek and Charlie Dickson also finding the net in the 6-2 win.

Both Ramsey and Buckden played well in a game that saw Buckden take the honours with a 3-0 win.

Louis Spicer scored the only first-half goal and Josh Jarvis doubled the advantage in the second period. Laurence Palmer made the game safe when he converted a late corner.

Hemingford took time to break down a determined Sawtry Yellow Sox team, but when the opener came, other goals soon followed in a 12-1 away win.

Robert McCrossan and Kieran Weston netted hat-tricks, Samuel Pryor and Bertie Kemp hit doubles and Sam Hardwick and Christopher Oliver made it a round dozen.

U10

BRAMPTON Spartans Blue hosted Ramsey B in a close game and took the lead through Jacob Hughes.

The Rams equalised with a great goal and, although both teams had chances to win, a 1-1 draw was a fair result.

Brampton Reds and Needingworth fought out a gripping 2-2 draw. Needingworth held a 2-1 lead at the break but Will Brackley scored his second of the match to tie the scores by the end.

Somersham progressed to round two of the League Cup at the expense of Rowdies with a 4-1 win.

Ramsey A kept their unbeaten run going against a strong visiting Bucken side who took an early lead.

Connor Fisher levelled for the Rams and Liam Carrigan put the home team ahead before Buckden equalised two minutes from time. Rams were indebted to keeper Elliot Baker-Dagless for a crucial penalty save.

U11

ST IVES A held all the aces as they beat visitors Sawston 7-2.

Adam Roberts, Callum McDuffus and a Thomas Johnson double gave Ives the lead at the break and further goals from William Rolt, Tom McCarthy and McDuffus again sealed a fine win.

Godmanchester and Alconbury shared the spoils in a thunderous 4-4 match. Goddy trailed 2-0 to goals from George Martin before Jake Bennett scored Goddy's first. Alconbury hit back and strikes from Jack Brinson and an own goal gave them a 4-1 lead but Godmanchester were not to be outdone. Toby Graham clawed one back, before Connor Rice and Bennett brought the scores level.

Priory went into a 3-0 lead against Ramsey through Matthew Law (2) and Ollie Curliss-Ackrill, but Ramsey hit back to snatch two before the break courtesy of Arthur Dunn and Glenn Ferrier.

Jack Morrison and Rylee Scott sealed a 5-2 win for Priory with second-half goals.

Injury-hit St Neots fell to a single strike at Bishop Stortford as the second-placed club overcame the league leaders 1-0.

U12

BUCKDEN cantered to a 5-1 win when they visited Newmarket, as Scott Irwin netted four and Jacob Brown a single.

Jordan Brown put Priory B in front against Ely and Connor Whiting added a second. Ben Bradbury and Rhys Thorpe added second half strikes as Priory ran out 4-1 winners.

St Ives A were comfortable 5-0 winners over Newmarket thanks to Cameron Haxell and Michael Scott, who both bagged a brace. The other strike came courtesy of Juhxin Radini.

A late William Taylor goal helped Ramsey to a share of the points against Saffron Walden in a 1-1 draw.

Godmanchester B and Haverhill shared seven goals in an all-action first half that saw Goddy lead 4-3. The second half was just as eventful as Rovers won the match 7-5 with the goals coming from Max Darer (4), Matt Weeks (2) and James Barkshire.

Brampton came away from St Ives with a resounding 9-1 victory under their belts, after a one-sided second half featuring seven goals.

Ben Keating and George Smith gave Brampton a 2-1 advantage at the break but further goals from Harry Cotton (2), Callam Morrison (2), Harry Clark, Doug Reynolds and Keating saw the visitors to a win.

U13

PRIORY Parkside C could only muster ten players but put up a brave show in losing 5-3 to Shelford. Peter Feneley netted a double and Dan Marvell a single.

Priory D were far from unlucky against March as they won the match 13-1.

Shawn Maumbe and Alessandro Capasso both hit hat-tricks, Bradley Sargeant, Matthew Allen and Bradleigh Ralph notched a goal apiece and there were doubles for Frankie Higgs and Oliver Rae-Jallal.

After a scrappy first half, St Ives Rangers B went on to beat Rowdies 3-0 with second half strikes from Lloyd Schwier, Scott Pepper and Sam Marjoram.

Brampton's journey to Bar Hill was worthwhile as they returned with the points from a 2-1 win. After a goalless first half, Brampton had to come from one down in the second but Aaron May and Toby Everest helped them hit the heights.

In appalling conditions St Neots put on a superb performance to see off Letchworth 5-1.

After going a goal down Saints played some super passing football and Charlie Willison bagged two fine goals. Matthew Gilbert, substitute Callum Stockwell and Jay Lambert rounded off the win.

Godmanchester turned the tables on a Fulbourn team that beat them three times last season as Rovers ran out 4-2 winners thanks to doubles from Haydon Noble and Jack James.

U14

WARBOYS maintain their unbeaten league run with a 7-2 win against Whittlesford. Goals from Mombe Simwanza (3), James Alexander, Ryan Judd, Levi Massey and Lewis Nicholls sealed the win.

Brampton raised their game against a Priory team that sits three divisions above them, but fell to a 5-1 defeat, with Priory scoring three late goals. Jonny Wrycraft got the Brampton goal.

Ramsey completed a 4-1 win over third-placed Sawston. Liam Parish opened the scoring and Dan Short added number two. Sawston pulled a goal back early in the second half but Jake Temple made it three before Parish completed the scoring with his second to secure an eighth consecutive victory for the Rams.

U15

GODMANCHESTER B and Milton shared eight goals in an open and attacking match.

Lewis Collins netted a double for Goddy and Josh Burgess and Tom Hodgson also put their names on the scoresheet.

Priory took a narrow 1-0 win from their match against Stretham Sporting thanks to a goal from Christian Duddridge.

Rowdies managed to scramble to a 1-0 win against Swavesey when Jamie Waterworth settled a close encounter. In the County Cup, Rowdies and Woodston ground out a tense 0-0 stalemate after extra-time. Penalties decided the match 5-3 in Woodston's favour.

Three goals in four minutes early in the second half gave Ramsey the edge over Godmanchester C. Josh Eyre and Elliott Cafferkey both hit home hat-tricks with one apiece for Rowan Dowlut and Ollie Wright in the 8-2 win.

U16

TEN-MAN Ramsey went a goal behind after 20 seconds against Brampton when Jack Kenmir netted.

Kenmir added a second and strikes from Tom Davies and Niall Cardwell sealed a win that keeps Brampton top of the league. Jake Peattie hit the consolation for the Rams.

U17

SOMERSHAM were in a mean mood as they demolished Benwick 7-1 with some excellent team play.

Dominic Richardson and Tyler Manly both netted twice with Jake Asby, Alex Burr and Alex White getting the others.

Alconbury took the lead against St Neots when Callum Baker scored but allowed Saints back in the match when Michael Kennoy converted a penalty.

In a second half played in driving rain it was the Saints who edged it to run out 3-1 winners with a further Kennoy goal and one from Rhys Irons.

GIRLS' FOOTBALL

ST IVES U13 progressed to the second round of the League Cup with a 6-1 win over Chatteris.

Tierney Poore opened the scoring and goals followed from Georgia Rebane, Phoebe Webb, Philippa Witherspoon and two from Jorgie Hall.
