East Midlands Winter League
ROUND Four of one of the closest winter leagues for years was fished on Sunday on the North Level Drain at Parsons Drove.
There were five teams covered by just three points at the start of the day and with much of the match stretch not fished before, most anglers approached the day with some trepidation.
Much of the venue fished well though there were four sections where weights were low, and bites few and far between.
The Fox Match Stanjay Black team put together a fantastic team performance, contributing three section winners in Mark Pollard, Anthony Watling and Brian Gibson, and four second places to recover from the setback suffered on the Cam in the last round.
It was also a good day for Fox Match Stanjay Red who finished fifth.
With Browning Hotrods only three points adrift, Stanjay Black now lead the league by one point from Hotrods.
Hotrods took the individual honours, with Jon Hazelden weighing in 19lb 7oz from above Clough Bridge which included four bream. Ty Harding, last week's open match winner was second and Stanjay's Paul Hendy was third. The league now moves on to the drains around Ramsey for round five.
