Simon Mead

Hello, I am from Australia and have recently signed a fellow by the name of Simon Mead to our club The Gap FC.

He has apparently played for Welwyn Garden fc in the past and wanted to know some background info on him if possible.

Not heard of him, but have only been following Welwyn Garden City this season.

How old is he and what position does he play?

He is an attacking mid fielder with a fair right boot on him, the reason i ask is because he does not stop talking about the magical goals he has scored in England. Great lad but i just would like to know if there is any truth to the rumours that he is top class. He can play well but is struggling with fitness

I remember a cracking goal he scored when he skipped over one tackle and waltzed around matilda in goal . He was a great sport !

As a former programme editor for the Citizens, I can confirm that Simon Mead certainly didn't feature during my long association with the club (late eighties - nineties).
