Tragic death of Keeley

Keeley Thorpe, 29, from Biggleswade was killed in a car crash on Monday March 3, 2008.

Keeley, who was engaged to be married, died when her Fiat Punto was in collision with another vehicle on the A10 near Buntingford. Police say the incident happened when a Volkswagen Polo being driven south behind a lorry by an 81-year-old man from Cheshunt crossed into the northbound carriageway and collided with Ms Thorpe’s car.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and had to be released by firefighters and transferred to Lister Hospital, Stevenage, where tragically, they both died.

Ms Thorpe’s fiancé, James Agland, 35, met Keeley while they both worked for a health company. They became a couple on Valentine’s Day 2005 and James asked Keeley to marry him while they were on holiday in New Zealand in February 2006.

Ms Thorpe was a family-orientated woman and spent a lot of time with her relatives. She had also been studying accountancy and had taken a number of exams.
