Cheshunt stumbled to another BGB Southern Premier Division defeat yesterday (December 29).
The Ambers buckled against the Steelmen and lost 2-0 away to Corby.
Fortunately for the Theobalds Lane side, fellow strugglers Hitchin also lost at home to Halesowen Town.
Cheshunt must now clip the Canaries' wings on New Year's Day when they visit Top Field. Defeat to Hitchin will leave the Ambers four points adrift at the bottom and seemingly heading for the drop.
